My winter baby, you’ve turned five. Five! It’s as big a deal for me as it is for you. Not only did your dad and I do a really good job keeping you alive all these years (first time parents here) but you mind your manners and are quite the little character. This year you changed your name to Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and your favorite colors changed from yellow & red to purple & blue. Allow me to list the things that are your life right now..
TV Show: My Little Pony
Song: Oppa Gangnam Style
Hobby: Exploring the outdoors
When I Grow Up: “I want to be Rudolph”
Game: Minecraft & Pocket Frogs
School Subject: “Cutting & Gluing” (which is the fun part of every subject)
Food: Grapes & Bananas
Drink: Shirley Temples & Ice cold water
Phrase: “You’re the best mom ever!!”
What makes you sad: “A needle pinching my butt” (you still remember the shots you received as a toddler – but they weren’t on your butt, haha)
Dislikes: “Bad Apples because you can’t eat them”
You’re still always dancing and you enjoy most types of music. You love jumping from couch to couch and you know how to take down a zombie should you ever need to do so. You don’t like early bedtimes but you’ll go to bed as early as noon if it means you get bedtime stories read to you. You have a good sense of wrong & right and are quite shocked when you see grownups doing wrong. You love all dogs, cats, lizards and birds but if you could have any pet in the world, it would be a dinosaur. You have decided to let your hair grow out – you’ve always been in charge of your hair style and this will be the first time your hair will grow past your shoulders.
As grown up as you act sometimes, you’re still my little girl. I will always watch my little pony with you and go on adventures to new imaginary places. I’ll tuck you in and sing to you for as long as you’ll let me. And as long as the ice cream man still makes his rounds – I’ll buy an ice cream cone for you during our favorite winter season.
We were going to throw a big party for Lana’s 5th but I haven’t been feeling well for a while so we decided to postpone it. However, I have wonderful friends & family who let me rest and took care of everything last minute to give Lana (and myself) a fun little surprise party. Two cakes, a whole slew of my little pony, hello kitty & dinosaur gifts along with polka dotted streamers filled my lovely little house.
//thank you to all who took photos so I could enjoy this special evening with miss Lana without distraction and thank you for creating such a beautiful surprise party for her//
Happy 5th Birthday Lana :)
You’re no longer a baby – you’re a T-Rex!! rAwR!!!
Lana: Mom… I don’t want to turn 5. I want to be a baby again.
Me: Why? Being 5 brings new adventures and bigger and better things you couldn’t do or participate in before. You’re going to love it :)
Lana: But I’m going to turn into a T-Rex. I can feel something changing inside me slowly. I’m going to eat a lot of meat. I know I AM slowly turning into a T-Rex.
Happy Birthday Lana girl!!!
